City Ordinances & Housekeeping Notes
Animals are not permitted on beaches within The City of South Haven, and may never run free in public spaces.
Animals are allowed on the piers and paved walkways, like beach sidewalks and the pier-to-pier Harborwalk.
Pets must always be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and under an owner’s immediate control.
All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.
City of South Haven Ordinance Sec. 58-85. Animals: (a) No person shall permit any animal to run at large within the public parks, nor allow any dog therein except when led by a leash. No animal shall be led or ridden onto any portion of a sand beach of a public park. Sand beach shall mean that portion of lake, river or other water frontage not surfaced for street or sidewalk use.
