Situated directly on a friendly harbor with 8 beach access points , and deep-rooted agricultural heritage have long drawn travelers to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Known as the Blueberry Capital of the World, this is where the Michigan Fruit Belt comes to life, with u-pick farms, roadside stands, and vineyard-lined backroads shaping the experience as much as the beach itself. From fishing charters and harbor cruises to paddleboards, surf, and shoreline strolls across both sugar-sand and natural beaches, the water is always within reach. As a Pure Michigan Trail Town, South Haven invites you to explore beyond the shore, then settle in at a lakefront resort, cozy bed and breakfast, or vacation rental, never far from your next morning on the water or in the fields.
On the water, experiences range from easy cruises to hands-on adventures, with the Michigan Maritime Museum at the heart of our waterfront story. On land, outdoor recreation runs deep, from disc golf and biking to paddling, with Van Buren State Park, the Kal-Haven Trail, and Lake Arvesta Aqua Park all nearby. And in every direction, fruit belt country delivers u-pick fields and farm experiences, with South Haven proudly known as the Blueberry Capital of the World, celebrated each August at The National Blueberry Festival.
