What is the Social District?
The South Haven Social District is a designated area downtown where you can purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating business and enjoy it outdoors within the marked Commons Area.
When is it open?
The Social District is open daily from 12 PM to 10 PM, year-round (January 1 – December 31). On New Year’s Eve, hours are extended to midnight.
Where can I take my drink?
You may carry and consume your beverage only within the Commons Area, which is clearly marked with signage and maps.
Can I bring my own cup or bottle?
No. Drinks must be served in a compliant container provided by a participating business. These containers must:
• Be 16 oz or smaller
• Be non-glass
• Have time/date of purchase
• Display the venue's logo and the Social District sticker
Can I bring my drink into other businesses?
Some businesses within the Commons Area do allow you to bring in your Social District drink—but only if:
• They are not prohibited by law (e.g., they don't serve their own alcohol)
• They post a visible sign welcoming Social District beverages
• Other businesses may prohibit drinks and should have signage indicating so.

The Social District remains open during festivals and special events.
Are there public restrooms?
Yes, there are (2) public bathrooms located in the district, one in Dyckman Park and another facility at the corner of Huron & Kalamazoo streets.
