Michiganderish
Jun 20, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Overview
Written & Performed by Julie Ganey
Directed by Ann Filmer
When Ganey and her partner find a little place to get away from it all and relax in the Great Lakes State, they find themselves wrestling with chipmunks, chainsaws, and everything they hadn't considered - including the difference between visiting a place and what it means to belong to it. A show about gentrification, doing what we can in the face of sometimes hopeless odds, and staying in relationship with everything we can't fix.
Also, it is very funny!
Michiganderish grew out of Julie’s residency as the 2024 Creative Fellow at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts. It premiered at Lifeline Theatre in Chicago as part of the Filet of Solo Festival in November 2024, and again at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts in Saugatuck, Michigan in January of 2025.
Students may attend this production for free! We just need to see your student ID at Will Call.
