Shamrock Hills Golf Club

Opened in 1969 and designed by Michigan golf architect Bruce Matthews, Shamrock Hills Golf Club is a public, family-owned course shaped around rolling ground, mature trees and five ponds that enter play across the layout. The par-71 course measures 5,756 yards from the back tees, making it approachable in length while still demanding accuracy through its tree-lined fairways and compact, well-guarded greens.

The course’s best-known test arrives at the par-3 eighth, appropriately named “Emerald Isle,” where the tee shot must find an island green surrounded by water. Across the full 18 holes, five par 3s, nine par 4s and four par 5s create a varied round that relies more on placement, changing elevation and water carries than overwhelming distance. Golfers consistently give Shamrock Hills high marks for its greens, course conditions, friendly service and overall value. A driving range, putting green and short-game practice area are also available before the round.
