Community Invited to Support Homeless Pets at Al-Van Humane Society’s
Annual Furry 5K/1 Mile Walk Fundraiser
South Haven, MI, June 10, 2025— Mark your calendars! Al-Van Humane Society’s annual Furry
5K/1 mile timed race returns on June 28th in beautiful South Haven, MI. Experience the Van
Buren Trail, and bring your dog along for the run or walk. Participants will receive custom
finisher medals, and top overall and masters runners will be recognized with age group awards.
All proceeds go to support the animals at Al-Van Humane Society.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just looking for a fun way to support
shelter pets, the Furry 5K has something for everyone. This family-friendly event is open to all
ages and fitness levels, and leashed dogs are not only welcome, they're celebrated! Stick
around after the race for refreshments, awards, and a chance to meet some of Al-Van’s
adoptable animals.
“The Furry 5K is not only a fun and engaging community event, but also a vital fundraiser that
helps support the lifesaving work we do every day,” said Donna Zeppiero, Al-Van Board
Treasurer. “We’re hopeful for a strong turnout this year, as every registration directly benefits
the animals in our care.”
Secure your place on the starting line today! Registration is $20 for the 1-Mile Walk and $25 for
the 5K through June 26 (packets available for pick-up on June 27 at the Al-Van Adoption
Center). After that, late registration (June 27–28) is $25 and $30, respectively. To learn more or
