Sunset Drive-In Theatre
Tony Griffith of Hartford visits Sunset with his wife and three kids 10-12 times a summer. They picked up a couple pizzas, pulled into their spot front-and-center in the second row and let the kids play on the playground beneath the 60-foot-by-40-foot screen until the credits started. "Many people will say to me, 'You know, I've never been to a drive-in before.' Once they come out here, they're hooked."
Since 1948 the Sunset Drive-in Movie Theater in Hartford Michigan has been delighting movie-going family’s, couples, and friends. This drive-in is the sister drive-in to the 5 Mile Drive in Theater in Dowagiac Michigan and is one of only nine drive-in theaters still in operation in Michigan.
The admission gate opens at 7 p.m and the first feature starts at dark. Throughout the summer season start time can vary. Come early and check out the concession, grab a hot dog, popcorn, and drinks, let the kids play at the playground. Enjoy a great family night. We are open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. *But on some special occasions we ARE open on Thursdays for midnight showings on newly released features!
