Nightmare on Broad Street: Boos and Brews at the Box
The Box Factory for the Arts
1101 Broad Street
Saint Joseph, MI 49090
The Box Factory for the Arts is excited to announce our new Halloween fundraising event Nightmare on Broad Street: Boos and Brews at the Box. The historic Williams Brothers Box Factory was purchased in 1995 by the Berrien Artists Guild and converted into a dynamic multi-use arts facility. The Box Factory houses studios for working artists and serves as a community art center through varied programming. We are a not-for-profit organization that focuses on creating an interactive space to practice and celebrate artistic diversity. It is a continuing challenge to meet the costs of operating as well as the maintenance costs of a historic building, and you can help by coming out to the party! Tickets are now available for just $20 (includes one drink ticket) at our website or on Facebook.
We will have so much going on during the party! Come in costume to enter in our costume contest. There will be two winners - one for best costume overall and one for the best artist themed costume. In addition to the costume prizes, we will have a few door prizes throughout the evening too.
Expect music and dancing all evening long, and plan time to stop and visit tarot card reader Michelle Skale and henna tattoo artist Meeta Kedia. Both ladies will be offering their services for a small donation (all to benefit the Box Factory!)
Scott R. Gane Photography will be on hand taking event shots, which you can view and purchase through SmugMug after the party.
The Box Factory for the Arts is pleased to also welcome South Bend artist Lauren Steinhofer, whose work is currently on exhibit at Mosaic Studios & Gallery. Lauren will be painting live! Her composition of the Box Factory’s historic building will be available to the highest bidder in our silent auction.
The silent auction will be running throughout the evening, with all proceeds going to support the Box Factory for the Arts. Local businesses have been generous with their donations to the silent auction, and you can expect to find some great items - including 2 tickets to the 2018-19 Mainstage Season from Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, a private shopping party at Lana’s Boutique in downtown St. Joseph, gift baskets from shops like Kilwin’s and Re*Imagine, gift certificates from local businesses including Clementine’s Too and The Boulevard and much more! There will also be plenty of artsy offerings from Box Factory Artists in the silent auction, including earrings from Lynne Tan, pewter napkin rings by Rebecca Hungerford, a workshop for three by David Baker, artwork by Elaine Harju and Ron Doyle and so much more!
