Friday, November 23
Light up the Season - Wait until you see the decorations in downtown South Haven! From the gorgeous new tree in front of City Hall, the downtown streets, to the beautiful Dykman Park behind the ice rink! We’re really going all out!!!
Lighting of Luminaries Downtown, Hospice at Home invites you to honor someone special with a beautiful holiday luminary. Lining the streets from City Hall down to the beach, this will be a sight to behold! Click here for details and to purchase your tribute online: Luminaries.
Santa Paws Pet Parade Downtown, 4:30 pm, Line up starts at 4:15 at the south marina; parade starts at 4:30 and ends at City Hall around 4:45. Come see all the pets decked out in holiday sweaters, antlers and jingle bells! Decadent Dogs and Al-Van Humane Society are certain you will be absolutely charmed by the Santa Paws parade!
Official Lighting of the Community Holiday Tree Downtown, City Hall, 5:30 pm, A new tradition in the making: join in downtown at City Hall to flip the switch lighting up the holiday tree.
Christmas Karaoke Downtown, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Join in and sing your favorite Christmas carols!
Ice Skating Downtown, Ice Rink / Pavilion, 5 pm to 7:30 pm, Bring your own skates and enjoy the ice rink for a free family fun night. First 250 guests skate free! If you don’t have your own skates, some will be available for rent.
Santa and Mrs. Claus Downtown, Dyckman Park behind the Pavilion, 5 pm to 7:30 pm, Have your photo taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the South Haven Elves!
Holiday Treats Downtown, Dykman Park / Pavilion, 5 to 7:30 pm, Warm up around fires and enjoy sm'ores, delicious cookies by Cookies on Call and hot cocoa.
Holiday Ornament Craft South Haven Center for the Arts, 6 to 7:30 pm, Warm up at the South Haven Center for the Arts as you make a keepsake ornament for your tree.
Mistletoe Market, Come to the Art Center for a day or two and view all the beautiful items that our local artists have made and artists from other areas. Two floors to walk through and view, pottery, jewelry, handmade mittens/scarves, paintings, wood cravings, etc. Enjoy the holiday atmosphere!
Al-Van Holiday Pop-Up Shop, Get into the holiday shopping mode at the Rescued Treasures pop-up shop at the Eagle Street Market. All the holiday cheer and proceeds will go towards caring for shelter animals.
Saturday, November 24
Small Business Saturday, Support local business and find unique gifts and some great deals!
Tea Light Trail, As you shop the local businesses, Hospice at Home invites you to scour the stores searching for tea lights with this fun activity! Ask the store owner or clerk for a game card, then write the names of the stores where you find the tea lights. Bring your completed card to Rambling Rose - the first three correct cards win a prize! The Polar Express at The Michigan Theatre, 10 to 11:50 pm, Come Celebrate with the holiday classic film The Polar Express. Movie tickets are free and hot chocolate and popcorn combo will be just $2. Doors will open at 9:20 am. We will be offering both the upstairs and an accessible downstairs auditorium for the 10:00 showing.
Make and Take Jars, 1 to 4 pm South Haven Center for the Arts invites you to make peppermint hot cocoa, M&M cookie mix, split pea & lentil soup, bean & pasta soup, peppermint milk bath, dog cookies. Leave with four jars of your choice. $35. Supplies may be limited so make sure you reserve your spot.
Christmas Carol Sing, 5 to 6 pm, First United Methodist Church invites you to cap off your Holiday in the Park celebration by singing your favorite Christmas carols accompanied by piano, guitar and pipe organ in a picturesque holiday setting.
