This class is classical Hatha Yoga for all levels. Traditional hatha yoga is a holistic yogic path, including postures (asana), gestures (mudra), breathing (pranayama), and meditation. The hatha yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas understood as physical exercises. It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice. In this class we will learn varying poses (Asana), Vinyasa sequences, and breathing techniques (pranayama). We will spend time centering our minds, and moving our bodies. We will spend time after our movement, on relaxation, and meditation, instilling a sense of calm awareness. Both Kathleen and Larissa are trained in Para Yoga sequencing and any of their classes will be themed according to the time of day, seasonal cycles, or a desired energetic effect.
