Prepare yourself for fall flavors and fright-filled nights! Taste the flavors of fall as hayrides roll, pumpkins fly, headless horsemen ride, and haunted houses awaken. Experience a true South Haven harvest with apple orchards and bonfires, and pumpkin carving, and delicious good-as-grandma's pies. So grab some cider, dance to live music, and see South Haven transform!

 

Tentative Schedule of Events

Friday, September 14 

Movies at the Marina Riverfront Park, 6:30 PM – 11 PM Enjoy two free movies at the Marina. First a youth movie at 6:30 PM, then another movie follows for older audiences.  Delicious caramel corn, hot apple cider and more will be available for purchase.

Museum Fright Night Maritime Museum, 8 PM – 11 PM Prepare yourself for horrific thrills and terrifying chills as Maritime Museum transforms its campus and buildings for the haunting season. This event is only for brave souls over 14 years of age. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $10 per person. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at http://www.michiganmaritimemuseum.org/ or at the door.

Saturday, October 20

Morning

Downtown Fun All day Enjoy shopping all day long with food and drinks from our locally owned boutiques, shops and eateries. Special deals await our “Haven Harvest” guests!

Family Fun Park Stanley Johnston Park, 10 AM – 3 PM Petting zoo, pony rides, inflatable obstacle courses and slides, balloon artists, face painting, giant bubbles and games – tons of fun for ages 3 to 12. $5 per child to enter, includes all activities. 

Horse Drawn Hayrides Stanley Johnston Park, 11AM - 3 PM Take a ride from Stanley Johnston Park to North Beach and back in a horse drawn hayride. Rides are free and last about 15 minutes.

Mitten Made Makers Market Dykman Park, 10 AM – 5 PM Come see artists put on a fantastic display of unique jewelry, trinkets and artwork, all custom-made by Southwest Michigan artisans. Michigan made cuisine will also be among the choices!

Spooky Lou Michigan Maritime Museum, 11 AM – 3 PM Enjoy a free shuttle across the Black River aboard the Lindy Lou! She’ll shuttle from the North to South Sides of the river! Weather permitting.

Afternoon

Pie Sampling Huron Street Pavilion, 1 PM – 4 PM Come out and support our local non-profit organizations in South Haven with a sample of homemade pie; $2 each. Whole pies will also be available to purchase for $15.

Apples for the Arts Huron Street Pavilion, 1 PM – 4 PM Create a caramel apple sensation and put your decorating skills to work.

Apple Cider Press Demo Huron Street Pavilion, 2 PM – 4 PM Join local McIntosh Cellars for a live demonstration of how the experts make our delicious apple cider. They'll even let you try it out! Their hard cider and wines will be available for purchase.  

Restaurant Server Race and Obstacle Course Huron Street Pavilion, 3 PM A favorite local event back by popular demand!

Pumpkin Chuckin’ in the River Riverfront Park, 3 PM – 5 PM Watch pumpkins fly into the river as kids and kids at heart slingshot them into the water! Free event with prizes!

Locally Made Cider, Beer and Wine Tent Huron Street Pavilion, 5 PM – 10 PM Enjoy locally made brews, cider and wine while listening to great music! All profits benefit the South Haven Rotary Club. 

Live Bands and Dancing Huron Street Pavilion, 5 PM – 10 PM Join us for free music at the Pavilion featuring Aces & Eights, as well as Crook County Blues Band! Local Orchard Tours and U-pick Throughout the Area All Day Long Come tour and pick apples at any of our local orchards. Maps available at the Visitors Bureau. 

Evening

Headless Horseman Ride Throughout town, 7 – 7:30 PM Beware the Headless Horseman riding through the streets downtown.

Sunday, October 21

Morning

Pet Costume Parade Huron Street Pavilion, Downtown, 11 AM – Noon Bring your furry friend all dressed up and ready to show off!

Afternoon

BOO on Your Bike Kal Haven Trail, Noon – 3 PM A free annual event held by Rock ‘n’ Road Cycle of South Haven. Riders of all ages are invited to dress up in costume and get out for a scenic fall bicycle ride on the Kal-Haven Trail starting at the South Haven trail head. Prizes, candy, apple cider, doughnuts, free helmets for children will all be given out. Plus there will be a bike rodeo supported by the South Haven Police Department. Riders can ride up to six miles total (further if desired), and expect to see fairies, witches, goblins and ghouls along their ride! The costume parade will run from 1 PM – 2 PM.  www.rocknroadcyclesouthhaven.com
